Lombardi Golf Classic at North Hills
The first Annual Vince Lombardi Memorial Golf Classic was held by North Hills Country Club Members and other civic-minded individuals, with the support of Mrs. Marie Lombardi, in 1971. The purpose was to raise money for cancer research and education in memory of Coach Vincent T. Lombardi.
Since then, the VLGC has become known as the longest running two-day charity golf event. To date, the Vince Lombardi Golf Classic, Walk, Award of Excellence Dinner Ball, Ride for Cancer and Milwaukee Food and Wine Experience of the Vince Lombardi Charitable Funds Inc. have raised over $14 million in support of the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation. For over 40 years, this organization has been dedicated to raising funds for cancer research, education, diagnosis, treatment and support, all in Vince Lombardi’s name.
